Home sales increased across all but one of the capital cities in the past seven days, marking the busiest week for auctions since the end of May, while home prices remain flat.
The national capital city auction clearance rate reached 70.7 in the week to September 24, up from 66.7 in the previous week, but was down compared to the clearance rate of 75.4 per cent at the same time a year ago, preliminary figures from property data group Corelogic show.
Home prices were flat across the combined five capitals compared to the previous week - with only Melbourne higher, up 0.2 per cent - while the capital city average was up just 0.2 per cent on the previous month.
